Fjällräven Bootcamp – Rinjani 2017

Written by: Ritche Lance

With the continuous growth and success of Fjällräven Bootcamp in Indonesia after being established in July 2016, it is making a glorious return in 2017 with 4 new installments spread out across the year. Our goal with Fjällräven Bootcamp is to emulate the Classic series, to help and inspire more people to get outdoor and reconnect with nature. After an extremely successful and ever-growing 2016, we decided to re-brand, and re-introduce Bootcamp in Indonesia, to introduce to more people the Fjällräven way of trekking: with everything you need on your back, in good company, and respecting nature.

With Fjällräven Bootcamp, we take care of the logistics  ― food, transfers, checkpoints, support and even a few little occasional treats along the way ― but you’ll do the trekking with all you need packed into a backpack. You’ll move at a pace that suits you, giving you plenty of time to soak up some “me time”, and even make new friends along the way.

Our main goal is to inspire and enable more people to go out and enjoy the great outdoors. So looking out for nature, preserving it, and protecting it, is a given. At Fjällräven, we do this in many ways, such as how and where we source our materials, how we produce our equipment, and of course how we run our events.

Just like the Fjällräven Classic, Fjällräven Bootcamp is one of the many ways we educate, inform, and inspire you and your fellow trekkers. It is an idea of how all of us can minimise our negative environmental impacts.

We kick off our Bootcamp series in 2017 with the beautiful Mount Rinjani on the 28th of April. Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia [Outside of Papua] stands at a mighty 3,726MASL. Situated in West Nusa Tenggara, Lombok Island, the Rinjani trail brings you through the beautiful tropics of Indonesia, to a magnificent view of a lake at approximately 2,000MASL [Which also includes a hot spring], and ends with a picture perfect scenic view at the peak.
